Did I tell you this one was my favourite

I also decided with my swap blocks that I rec`d 2 years ago on a layout. I couldn`t decide whether to put sashing on them or not. I decided not to. I got these 6in blocks on a swap and then added the hole in the barn door this pattern was inspired by the pattern in MacCall`s Quilting June 2007

There is still a pieced boarder to put on that is pinwheel. You can see some of the blocks if you click on the picture. I had no where to hang it at the moment

I don`t know if you can see it any better on the bed…when I get the boarders on I will hang it maybe sometime this week.
It`s been busy quilt show season is upon us so you know where I`ve been but gotta say I have not travelled far. Usually I will travel up to 3 hours to see a show but time and funding has been very limited this year.

Virtual Retreat Today

I woke up Friday Morning to find 2 squishes on the table upstairs both from 2 seperate swaps

This was the 1812 swap the blocks were fabulous! This was done on the Quilt with Us Swap group hosted by Connecting Threads so 200am on Sat I was up picking fabric for the layout I decided to use. you can see the gold above and then the blue below

I pieced and put the blocks up on the board I wanted it bigger and had 15 blocks how was I going to lay it out....hmmmmm

This was my end decision. My neighbour was raking leaves in the morning so I commissioned him to hold up the quilt...as you can see we had a lovely day

I also have lots of the boarder fabrics left so I made my first ever pillows! this is the place where they will all live happily, after I quilt the top. There is a youtube tutorial to make them just google hotdog, or sausage pillowcase...many many tutorials acutally.

I was also got my leaves back all 64 in repro CW fabrics and they are aweseome too. All 64 of them.
This was done through Kathleen Tracey`s Yahoo group Small Talk. This is a very active group and they are currently making a mini a month from Kathleen`s books
Not to worry though I have plans for these babies too I don`t think they will be sitting around long either

Thought I would post some close ups. Doesn`t it look like fall!!
Well I gotta get outta here and get to work you all have sweet dreams...

Sandy`s Show Case

Sandy has finished her Love Letters is it not gorgeous, she picked all her fabrics from her stash of FQ`s and I just love it. This was her first full applique project and it just looks so alive! that girl is amazing

She also quilted this quilt and the quilting you can see below just complimented it completely

The quilt below is what was currently on her frame I love the design she was quilting on it you can click on the picture for a better view

And then she also designs quilts. This one she just finished designing and piecing it is another gorgeous beauty. See the hearts along the boarder...I wonder how she will quilt this one.

now that Sandy has finished her hand work she is getting back into her punch needle I love this technique and do want to learn

have you ever seen anyone carrying their utensils with them in their work bag? I had to take a picture of all things..LOL

And this is my boyfriend when I come over Guido, he stuck around so long we decided he needed a little grooming, nails anyone..as you can see he is not impressed

but he still looks up at her with those loving eyes..he really is a good good boy

I am having a cyber retreat today with our Canadian Yahoo group. I am sewing my CW blocks together I will show you later...I got them in a swap with Quilt with Us group on Connecting threads. been up since about 0200am went for a walk in the fog and the day was clearing up when i got home.
back to sewing break is over.
