Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat BBD

I have had a house guest so in between them sleeping I have cut some baskets of this quilt that I wanted to make

Trick or Treat BBD

I am again digging into the scraps (I see the photo is yellow will try better lighting next time) All of the fabrics are from my scrap barrels even the background.

I only have 35 baskets ready for applique pretty good for a couple of hours the last 2 days.

This is the quilt, from Black Bird Designs I am sure you all have seen many do it, I have and love the pattern.  It is from the  When the Cold wind blows. (I am also working, I know, I know still on my love letters blocks)

I got that red file folder to carry my stuff in for applique while on lunch, sitting at the doctors, or  sitting on the 401 for 2hrs which I had to do yesterday…and of all days I brought no hand work.

Trick or Treat BBD

I was stuck at the Enroute  at Woodstock the cut off to get off the highway was 4km away and that is where the accident was. It was 2hours sitting with car off watching people get out of their cars, walking their dogs, kids and themselves. Going up to Tim Horton`s for coffee…LEAVING THEIR CARS parked on a major highway. It was incredible! When we did start moving we had to drive around these cars…almost like at the movies. It took us another 1hr to drive 4km

The accident was a single motorcycle accident…there have been many in the last couple of days even one hitting a pedestrian. Please be careful out there! please drive safe, please remember you have to share the road. We all want to get home! It is getting darker earlier in the am and pm, make sure you are thinking of this and wearing appropriate clothes so that you can be seen.

That sounds like a nightmare on the 401.

  4. Those baskets will be lots of fun. Too bad you didn't have them to work on, it makes the time go faster.

  5. Love those pretty baskets! Fancy getting out of your car and walking away, even if you are hanging out for coffee.

  6. Love your basket - another bucket list project for me.
Had to laugh at your scrap "barrels". What a hoot - I'd have fun digging through those too.

  7. Your baskets look great. I'm working on the same quilt right now, but making all my baskets out of red fabrics - scraps that I had in the sewing bins. Those little baskets are addicting to sew.

  8. Hi Debra,
Just want to thank you for being so kind at the hospital last Friday. I have checked out the sites you have suggested and I can tell it's going to be a long relationship!!! :)
Your baskets are amazing. Can't wait to see more...

  9. Terry from quiltncat yahoo group, I love the varied materials used in your baskets. You look very busy in that sewing room!

  10. I love this quilt pattern and it looks like your collection of scraps will do it justice. Great idea to keep stitching in the car - especially if you travel often. It's so frustrating to be sitting with idle hands when you have all that time to fill.
