Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat BBD

I have had a house guest so in between them sleeping I have cut some baskets of this quilt that I wanted to make

Trick or Treat BBD

I am again digging into the scraps (I see the photo is yellow will try better lighting next time) All of the fabrics are from my scrap barrels even the background.

I only have 35 baskets ready for applique pretty good for a couple of hours the last 2 days.

Trick or Treat BBD

This is the quilt, from Black Bird Designs I am sure you all have seen many do it, I have and love the pattern.  It is from the  When the Cold wind blows. (I am also working, I know, I know still on my love letters blocks)

I got that red file folder to carry my stuff in for applique while on lunch, sitting at the doctors, or  sitting on the 401 for 2hrs which I had to do yesterday…and of all days I brought no hand work.

Trick or Treat BBD

I was stuck at the Enroute  at Woodstock the cut off to get off the highway was 4km away and that is where the accident was. It was 2hours sitting with car off watching people get out of their cars, walking their dogs, kids and themselves. Going up to Tim Horton`s for coffee…LEAVING THEIR CARS parked on a major highway. It was incredible! When we did start moving we had to drive around these cars…almost like at the movies. It took us another 1hr to drive 4km

The accident was a single motorcycle accident…there have been many in the last couple of days even one hitting a pedestrian. Please be careful out there! please drive safe, please remember you have to share the road. We all want to get home! It is getting darker earlier in the am and pm, make sure you are thinking of this and wearing appropriate clothes so that you can be seen.

Revamping the Quilting room

100_4062

I have been busy revamping these cupboards are now in my hall full of fabric only

100_4063

cupboards on the right are full of fabric and notions…don`t look on top there is stuff there too.

100_4064

now this may not look tidy to you but it is to me and there is a load of projects that are UFO`s I am working on

100_4065

these are my 4patchposie swap blocks, I am piecing the edges on each of the blocks and then putting a 1in strip in between they will look kiltered. The fabric that is the foundation is Laurel Birch…in the stash it was!! this is going to be 7x7 blocks they are 12 1/8 after the foundation is put on. it will be a nice size. I have used 49 of my swap blocks…its okay there were a couple of doubles.

100_4066

as you can see my design wall can only hold 5 rows. I tried to place the blocks so it was light dark, light dark.

after this there will be another swap block to post after it is put together, and to finish the giant star this weekend.

okay back to work….

Finished hand quilting this mini it is 18in x 14in just putting the binding on. Started this on Friday it went real fast with that Baptiste Fan quilting.
100_4025
Thought you could see the stitching better on the back.
Well it will be probably be quiet around the blog now I am back at work so that will eat up some quilting time.  This was most helpful while trying to get over my virus and then allergic reaction to the cure x2. I am not one to take antibiotics and now I know why!
Have a great week and thanks to those new people that are visiting and all your wonderful comments. Thanks to those that keep coming back I love to hear from you. To those that are enjoying silently thanks for taking the time to visit.

Do you have a go to Quilting pattern?

100_4011
One of my favourite patterns is the Baptiste Fan. I love how a quilt looks being quilted with this pattern. I am quilting a mini (another) and used this pattern also on larger quilts. I don`t want to over use it but if I can`t think of anything else it becomes my go to pattern.
The blocks are from scraps that I had left from pie in the sky I ended up making up this block with the strips that I had left. It is really a mishmash of scraps.

I have part of the star quilt together I got over the hurdle of putting those boarders on that are inside the quilt. I am going to add another white boarder and then another of the Hydrangea boarder to make is a queen. DH and I laid this part on the bed and the star just fits perfectly over the queen bed, he even wants one of these! LOL
