Last night I was picking and cutting and so far have all my 4patches done plus 20 of my Flying Geese (FG)
100_4205
I think I mentioned I am not a purple fan so this was my choice again using up some stash these blacks or darks were found in the FQ part of the stash.
100_4206
These are pinned for Monday night quilting fun, you can see it is the no waste method of FG. I just have to sit and sew them. Tuesday night is another Dinner with DH and Wednesday is Easy Street with Irene Thursday I have something on the calendar just can`t remember will have to look and then Friday Saturday working nights again (working straight through till mid January now then I will take a small break)

I am a neglectful friend, when I had visited Hetty the first time she introduced me to this lovely aloe plant it is BIG. I loved it and in saying that she gave it to me…Isn`t it gorgeous I know my picture is a little dark sorry it is 300am…and I can`t have to many lights on.
Well see if I can get a little nap in before work exciting times are ahead with this mystery many quilters are working on this one and cyberspace had allowed us to quilt internationally!!

A Quilters Christmas starts early

I was lucky to be able to sew with a friend last weekend we have both started BH Easy Street Mystery the fabrics above are Irene`s (sorry no blog) the fabrics below are mine...so far

This is a late post cause we both have all the 4patches done and are now on phase 2 Flying geese if you want to know how many of each go to Bonnie`s site. If you would like inspiration you will see that she has a Flick post of about 200 people making this quilt in different fabric choices
Another friend that is a blogger is also on the Easy Street path, surprised I read it on her blog Hetty cyber wave to ya
it is still not to late to join if you would like to dip into your stash. I am only using my stash materials not buying any have been doing well so far on that promise to myself.

Now I also had a little show and tell at Irene`s she has made a couple of Bonnie`s mysteries are they not stunning! the top picture and the bottom one

This will be my first one of Bonnie`s so I am excited cause I love mysteries. I have also all the confidence in the world that this quilt will be spectacular. I have not seen any of Bonnie`s mysteries that I have not liked but really really loved. I just hope I can do it justice with my selections cause I am not using her same colors...for thing there is purple in it...a mass amount of purple!! not my favorite color.

Went also to Orono Quilt show with Hetty and she has shown most of the quilts on her blog so you can go visit.  I loved the quilt above it was their draw quilt...no I didn`t get a call so I guess I didn`t win. It would have suited my home just perfectly

This quilt I just loved the sparkle it had with all the velvets used

I like the dimensional illusion of this scrappy quilt.

Well I had a break back to my wonderful Flying geese surprised that I am keeping up? so am I ..LOL

I got some beautiful orchids as a gift they look better in real life, I love the instructions I water once a week by putting 3 ice cubes on the dirt
100_4149
Still quilting the quilt
100_4150
I really wanted to show this hydrangea look at those colours.
100_4151
Did I tell you this one was my favourite
100_4152
okay one more picture
100_4153
oh you didn`t see it that clearly one more
100_4155
I also decided with my swap blocks that I rec`d 2 years ago on a layout. I couldn`t decide whether to put sashing on them or not. I decided not to. I got these 6in blocks on a swap and then added the hole in the barn door this pattern was inspired by the pattern in MacCall`s Quilting June 2007
100_4156
There is still a pieced boarder to put on that is pinwheel. You can see some of the blocks if you click on the picture. I had no where to hang it at the moment
100_4158
I don`t know if you can see it any better on the bed…when I get the boarders on I will hang it maybe sometime this week.
It`s been busy quilt show season is upon us so you know where I`ve been but gotta say I have not travelled far. Usually I will travel up to 3 hours to see a show but time and funding has been very limited this year.

Virtual Retreat Today

I woke up Friday Morning to find 2 squishes on the table upstairs both from 2 seperate swaps

This was the 1812 swap the blocks were fabulous! This was done on the Quilt with Us Swap group hosted by Connecting Threads so 200am on Sat I was up picking fabric for the layout I decided to use. you can see the gold above and then the blue below

I pieced and put the blocks up on the board I wanted it bigger and had 15 blocks how was I going to lay it out....hmmmmm

This was my end decision. My neighbour was raking leaves in the morning so I commissioned him to hold up the quilt...as you can see we had a lovely day

I also have lots of the boarder fabrics left so I made my first ever pillows! this is the place where they will all live happily, after I quilt the top. There is a youtube tutorial to make them just google hotdog, or sausage pillowcase...many many tutorials acutally.

I was also got my leaves back all 64 in repro CW fabrics and they are aweseome too. All 64 of them.
This was done through Kathleen Tracey`s Yahoo group Small Talk. This is a very active group and they are currently making a mini a month from Kathleen`s books
Not to worry though I have plans for these babies too I don`t think they will be sitting around long either

Thought I would post some close ups. Doesn`t it look like fall!!
Well I gotta get outta here and get to work you all have sweet dreams...

Sandy`s Show Case

Sandy has finished her Love Letters is it not gorgeous, she picked all her fabrics from her stash of FQ`s and I just love it. This was her first full applique project and it just looks so alive! that girl is amazing

She also quilted this quilt and the quilting you can see below just complimented it completely

The quilt below is what was currently on her frame I love the design she was quilting on it you can click on the picture for a better view

And then she also designs quilts. This one she just finished designing and piecing it is another gorgeous beauty. See the hearts along the boarder...I wonder how she will quilt this one.

now that Sandy has finished her hand work she is getting back into her punch needle I love this technique and do want to learn

have you ever seen anyone carrying their utensils with them in their work bag? I had to take a picture of all things..LOL

And this is my boyfriend when I come over Guido, he stuck around so long we decided he needed a little grooming, nails anyone..as you can see he is not impressed

but he still looks up at her with those loving eyes..he really is a good good boy

I am having a cyber retreat today with our Canadian Yahoo group. I am sewing my CW blocks together I will show you later...I got them in a swap with Quilt with Us group on Connecting threads. been up since about 0200am went for a walk in the fog and the day was clearing up when i got home.
back to sewing break is over.
