prep work

I have got the prep work done of my first Love Letters block "The Hedge Apple" and have started to applique the leaves and stems..what a large block to work with!! Stitchin' Heaven made a great selection in their BOM program. Normally I would pick my fabrics but I have been doing so many quilts just doing that and making a mess outta my fabrics. I needed to not think and to enjoy a process.. Stitchin Heaven has great BOM's you can click on their name and it brings you to their wonderful link..

I am needleturning everything except the stems I have the Clover bias maker and I just love it!!

I also wanted to invite you over to one of the girls blogs that is in our group of Aunt Millie's Garden. Her fabrics are fantastic!! go and see Crispy Quilts I just love her blocks!!

  6. I love this pattern, Deb and the fabrics you chose are going to look super! I bought the BBD book about a month ago and I've been eyeing it as well. Now that I've seen yours, it's becoming evenmore tempting.

  8. Beautiful block! So, you pin ALL your pieces onto the block and then applique? Don't the pins fall out or the edges of the fabric fray as you work?

  16. Needleturning is something I need to practise and have a go at.... at the moment Ive been doing raw edge applique which I think is ok on some blocks but the needleturning is so much neater and I love this block what a gorgeous design this is, reminding me of Dahlias this time of the year with golden and brown colours,
