I have got the prep work done of my first Love Letters block "The Hedge Apple" and have started to applique the leaves and stems..what a large block to work with!! Stitchin' Heaven made a great selection in their BOM program. Normally I would pick my fabrics but I have been doing so many quilts just doing that and making a mess outta my fabrics. I needed to not think and to enjoy a process.. Stitchin Heaven has great BOM's you can click on their name and it brings you to their wonderful link..
I am needleturning everything except the stems I have the Clover bias maker and I just love it!!
I also wanted to invite you over to one of the girls blogs that is in our group of Aunt Millie's Garden. Her fabrics are fantastic!! go and see Crispy Quilts I just love her blocks!!
Beautiful, Deb. You'll have this one done in no time!
ReplyDeleteI have all the parts cut out for my blocks for this same quilt. Must be a million pieces!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful block!
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely! yep, those little Clover bias makers are worth their weight in chocolate.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beutyful block! And it's fun to see how different it's from mine. Love your red apple fabrick!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous block! You are making this quilt so tempting for me...lol
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern, Deb and the fabrics you chose are going to look super! I bought the BBD book about a month ago and I've been eyeing it as well. Now that I've seen yours, it's becoming evenmore tempting.
ReplyDeleteThe block looks great, Deb. I love your fabric choices.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful block! So, you pin ALL your pieces onto the block and then applique? Don't the pins fall out or the edges of the fabric fray as you work?
ReplyDeleteLovely! your shaming me into finishing another of my applique blocks!
ReplyDeleteOh no... am now tempted to progress mine... this is a stunning quilt!
ReplyDeleteDeb - you do such beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be a wonderful quilt.
That looks really clever!
ReplyDeleteGreat block so far. I love the bias maker too. I won't use the bars hardly at all anymore.
ReplyDeleteI have seen Crispy's block. They are fantastic. Love her color choices.
You make me so proud! This is wonderful - great job!
ReplyDeleteThat block is going to be beautiful! Sometimes, it really is nice to just have all the fabrics picked out and good to go. Gotta love BOMs! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is all I can do to stop my fingers from pressing the 'purchase' button on this BOM. Your block is lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful block!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful block!!
ReplyDeleteNeedleturning is something I need to practise and have a go at.... at the moment Ive been doing raw edge applique which I think is ok on some blocks but the needleturning is so much neater and I love this block what a gorgeous design this is, reminding me of Dahlias this time of the year with golden and brown colours,
